Here’s a list of apps that I find helpful in my daily life management:
- Database: Sheets
- Email: Mail, Proton, Gmail
- Finance: Money Mgr, Sheets
- Fitness: Garmin Connect, Strava, Hevy
- Journal: Diarium
- Links: Raindrop
- Music & Podcasts: YT Music, Pocket Casts
- Notes: UpNote
- Passwords: Bitwarden
- Photos: Google Photos, Slidebox
- Reading: Kindle (reading), Storygraph (tracking), Inoreader (RSS, newsletters, read-later)
- Storage: Google Drive (personal), Proton Drive, OneDrive (work)
- Tasks: Todoist
Notes
I subscribe to the idea of simplicity and less but better. So I try to limit the tools that I use.
All apps are cross-platform since I use both iOS and Android.
Finances: Lunch Money was great, however, the lack of native apps was a deal-breaker for me. While there are companion apps in iOS and Android developed by the users, those were still limited in functionality. Logging through the browser to access my account was a bit cumbersome. So for the nth time, I am giving another run at YNAB. I have a good feeling it will stick this time.
I recently left Spotify to try YT Music since it’s already bundled with YT Premium, which I’m already subscribed to. However, YT Premium’s price increase is making me think about canceling it.
Switched from Dashlane to the free tier of Bitwarden. I was having second thoughts on jumping ship due to the clunky UI. But guess what, THE APP JUST GOT AN UPGRADE.
Playing with the free version of Todoist for now. The app is pretty nice just like Things 3, but its availability in all platforms gives it a slight edge. Why hide the ‘reminders’ feature behind a paywall though?
